Modern farming for West Africa
Grow more.
Use less.
Agriponie brings together field agriculture and modern growing systems to produce more food with less water, land and waste.
Agriculture, rethought for West Africa
From open fields to greenhouses, we focus on the methods that help a farm do more with what it has.
Water
Drip irrigation, recirculating systems and smarter scheduling, so every drop reaches the roots.
Soil and land
Mulching, soil health and better planning to get more from every square metre.
Systems
Greenhouses, coco coir with drip fertigation, and hydroponics: protected, soil-free growing for steadier harvests.
Water to grow 1 kg of lettuce
In a peer-reviewed study, lettuce grown in a hydroponic greenhouse needed about 12 times less water than lettuce grown in an open field, and produced around 11 times more per square metre.
